CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY

As part of our a contribution to job creation, Godfrey's Chicken has dedicated itself to programmes that seek to train graduates and the disadvantaged communities on how to rear broilers, bio security, marketing, trading and general skills development in the agricultural production and processing. We have previously absorbed interns, some of whom became part of the permanent staff at Godfrey's Chicken.

Furthermore, the company has produced entrepreneurs who also continue to excel in their areas of focus. We work closely with the University of Pretoria on a programme that brings postgraduate students to the farm for practical/in service training every month. It is our plan to extend such programme to other emerging farmers with a view to assisting in transferring skills in the broiler production sector. The company also makes use of environmentally friendly materials to minimize damage and ensure these resources will be available for future generations.

RETAIL OUTLETS

Godfrey’s Chicken has recently launched retail outlets to distribute its own chicken products directly from the farm. To date the company has 2 outlets in Olievenhoutbosch ( Gauteng) and Elukwatini (Mpumalanga). The company is in the process of launching franchise in the Gauteng township, notably Tembisa, Diepsloot, Soweto, Mamelodi, Soshanguve, Alexandra, Hammanskraal and Atteridgeville.

We believe this would go a long way in creating jobs while creating more entrepreneurs in the township thus contributing to the proposed township economy initiative. Our programme will target women, youth, graduates and people with disabilities.
